Affiliate Disclosure

Some of the links on AI Tried It are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy the product, the vendor may pay us a commission — at no extra cost to you. This page explains exactly how that works and, more importantly, what it doesn’t change.

How it works

  • When we link to a tool we’ve tested, that link sometimes includes a tracking code that identifies us as the referrer.
  • If you purchase through that link, the vendor pays us a commission — typically a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount.
  • You pay the same price either way. The commission comes out of the vendor’s pocket, not yours.
  • We also earn revenue from display advertising on the site.

What it never affects

This is the part that matters:

  • Commissions never buy a better verdict. Our testing process is identical for tools that pay us and tools that don’t.
  • Vendors can’t pay to be tested or ranked. There is no sponsored placement on this site — no paid reviews, no paid rankings, no paid quiz results.
  • We recommend against tools that pay us, when they deserve it. If a tool with an affiliate program fails our testing, we say so plainly — we’d rather lose a commission than your trust.
  • We link to non-affiliate tools too. If the best tool for the job has no affiliate program, we still recommend it and link to it normally.

How you can tell

Pages that contain affiliate links carry a short disclosure near the top, and the footer of every page on this site includes a one-line affiliate notice linking back here. We aim to make the commercial relationship obvious without cluttering the reading experience.

Why we do it this way

Proper tool assessment takes real time — researching documentation, verifying pricing, testing what’s testable, re-testing after updates. Affiliate commissions and advertising are what fund that work and keep the guides free for readers. The alternative — charging readers, or taking money from vendors for placement — would compromise either access or independence. This model keeps both.

If you ever feel a verdict was influenced by a commercial relationship, tell us. We take that accusation seriously, and we’ll investigate it publicly.
